Emcon Services Inc. is a proud Canadian based company with over 30 years of success as an interprovincial Road and Bridge Maintenance Contractor. We currently have an opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join our team in Timmins, Ontario as the Superintendent of Operations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Superintendent of Operations is responsible for:

  • Coordinating and implementing the Timmins contract work programs in a safe, productive and cost-effective manner;
  • Maintaining positive and productive working relationships with supervisory staff, office and technical staff, and municipal stakeholders;
  • Ensuring the safe, reliable delivery of the contractual requirements of the Timmins contract;
  • Ensuring all contractual documentation is submitted to the City of Timmins as directed/required;
  • Coordinating and directing manpower management and scheduling to support operational requirements;
  • Supporting hiring activities including presenting hiring packages and ensuring completed documentation is returned;
  • Ensuring all Emcon required documentation is submitted within required time lines;
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience in an operations supervisory role, preferably within road maintenance or municipal contract environments;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and direct teams in a fast-paced, operational environment;
  • Strong understanding of contractual compliance, documentation, and reporting requirements;
  • Clear understanding of Health and Safety requirements and applicable legislation;
  • AZ or DZ license considered an asset;
  • Mechanical experience considered an asset;
  • Experience working with MTO contracts or requirements considered an asset;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with staff, management, municipal stakeholders, and the public;
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate industry-related programs;
  • Physically able to meet operational and emergency response requirements while promoting safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations.

This is a non-union, hourly position.
