Emcon Services Inc. is a proud Canadian-based company with over 30 years of success as an interprovincial Road and Bridge Maintenance Contractor. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our mechanical team as a Mechanical Apprentice for our Peel/Halton Division working out of Mississauga Shop.

Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent, the Mechanical Apprentice is responsible for:
- Assisting with inspections, servicing and repairs on Emcon’s fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment;
- Assisting with annual safety inspections;
- Assisting with and following our preventative maintenance program;
- Performing basic mechanical repairs under supervision;
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition;
- Following all trade related and workplace safety procedures;
- Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License;
- Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in the mechanical trade;
- Ability and aptitude to learn, apply and complete required theoretical and practical apprenticeship training;
- Basic hand and power tool knowledge considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of trade related worksite safety;
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment;
- Capable of working overtime as required;
- Capable of performing call out to attend vehicle breakdown;
- Experience on industry related heavy-duty equipment such as snow-plow trucks, winter maintenance attachments, loaders, grader, sweepers, mowers, backhoes, tractors, etc. considered an asset.
