Description
Emcon Services Inc., Road and Bridge Maintenance Contractor in the Interior of British Columbia, is looking for a Certified Red Seal Bridgeworker OR Certified Red Seal Carpenter for our Malahat, BC operations of service Area 1, South Island. This position is 12-month per year position, full time status.
Required qualifications and scope of position include:
This position requires a competent, energetic and highly self-motivated individual with a valid Certificate of Qualifications issued by the B.C. Ministry of Labour or the Industry Training Authority. Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License, Class 3 with Air Brakes would be an asset.
Carrying out activities involving bridge maintenance, repairs, construction and/or reconstruction involving timber or log, concrete, cable and steel bridges; including equipment or material storage sheds and shelters, pipe arches, tunnels and retaining wall or related structures. Must be willing to work at heights. Involves the use of chain saws and air tools of the trade and operations of cranes and/or pile drivers and corresponding rigging, single axles or tandem flat deck truck with winch and crane, compressors, and other related equipment. Must have a thorough knowledge of worksite safety, and safe operating procedures, relevant to the Bridgeworker or Carpentry trade, and industrial worksites in general.
Wages and benefit package as per the BCGEU Collective Agreement.
